Installing on Windows

Run the installer. If Windows SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.

Installing on macOS

Drag Veilus into Applications. If macOS says Veilus is damaged or can't be opened, open Terminal and run:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Veilus.app

You only need to do this once. From 0.2.6 on, the app tells you when a new version is out and installs it when you click Update and restart.

What do I need to run Veilus?

Veilus runs on Windows 10 or 11 (x64) and on macOS 13.5 or later with Apple Silicon. The installer is ~39 MB on Windows and ~62 MB on macOS, and the app then downloads its browser engine (~157–188 MB) separately. Downloading Veilus and using up to 5 profiles is free.

After you install

  1. Open Settings → Engine & updates and click Download next to the version marked Latest. Profiles can't launch until an engine is installed.
  2. Click New profile and launch it. Veilus gives each profile a fingerprint that fits the operating system you pick.
  3. Add a proxy on the profile's Network tab. Automation, schedules and the local API/MCP need Pro or the 7-day trial.
